Veteran's Day Program

The 2nd Graders at Wylie Elementary School held a Veteran's Day Program for all the relatives of the school children. Only those who are currently serving or those who were Veteran's were supposed to attend, due to seating. But, you know me...you can't tell me no! Besides, Rylee had a speaking part, and I was not going to miss that!

All students were asked to wear a white shirt, blue jeans, and red accessories! As you can tell, Rylee had no problem with accessorizing.

The Jazz Band, from Wylie High School, played all the music for the program. One of our good friends/family from church, Nathan, had a solo during one of the anthems! He did an awesome job, and so did the entire band!

Rylee's class got to sing the Air Force song. She had that baby memorized, and practice several times on the microphone at Grandad's!

She looks so nervous waiting her turn to speak.

She did so well though. She makes me a PROUD mommy!

Thanks for helping me take the pictures Rick!

Happy Halloween!

The kids and I did our yearly pumpkin carving inside this year! It was a little chilly and way to dark outside.

I think Rylee was more interested in the TV show, than the actual pumpkin!

Cutter was so excited he got to use a knife. For those that don't know, that is the first thing he asks for at McDonald's every Sunday after church. He HAS to cut his own biscuit and sausage, or he will NOT eat it. He is such a boy!

This year we decided to carve a pattern from the Wal-Mart carving kit. Every other year I have gone with the traditional triangle eyes, nose and mouth. Somehow, we managed to use and break every tool in the kit but one scrolling tool! I'm not sure they are really made for kids!
Rylee's pumpkin is a witch or moon, depending on which way you look at it!
Cutter picked out a scary monster!
I also let the kids pick out their own costumes this year. Rylee has for a few years now, but last year I picked Cutter out a costume. This year Cutter wanted to be a scary skeleton, and....

Rylee was Hannah Montana, for the third year in a row!

Just think, next year we will get to add another precious baby to the picture! Not from me,
Chad and Brittney! We, or should I say they, find out the sex of the baby on the 21st! The count down is on!

Shooting with the Boys!

I know, I know, this is post is way out of order (by several months). This was out at Jerry's birthday party, so sometime in August! Anyhow, these pictures are so cute. I also wanted to thank the boys for helping Cutter. He looks up to y'all more than you'll ever know!

Cutter knew just where to find Jami's shell stash!

Silly Walker helped him load it...

...and shoot it! Cutter was SO proud!

High fives for everyone! I didn't get a picture of Chad, but he gave Cutter the initial push to get out there!

Thanks again Jami, Silly Walker and Chad!
I really appreciate it!

A football TEAM!

The weekend before Halloween, Dad and I decided that it was time to rebuild the fence! Ryan was once again LUCKY enough to join in on the fun! Hanaba was also in town to help!

Cutter and Hanaba digging out the old base boards.

I know these pictures are small, but that's all I have. Hanaba took them with her phone, and emailed them to me. Thanks!

My little helper! Such a BIG boy!

Rylee had no interest in helping. She played in the back yard, and was a trooper!

Now for the Football Team analogy...Ryan was retelling our weekend, and used some familiar terminology.

Coach = Dad...He comes up with the plan and makes sure we do it!

Line Backer = Ryan...Gives the initial push to get things started

Wide Receiver = ME...the one who finishes everything!

At first I had to ask Ryan what was meant by me being the receiver. In my opinion the receivers get all the credit for catching the ball, when in all honesty, it took the whole team! Once he reassured me that wasn't what was intended, I agreed with his analogy. As I look back at this, it is SO true! We had a garage door mishap the weekend we worked on the fence, and guess who coached us along the way, gave the initial push with a quick trip or two to Lowe's, and then ultimately finished the project with a coat of paint!

To Dad and Ryan, I really enjoy our time together! Working on the house brings back so many fond memories that I cherish from our childhood. I could not ask for a better daddy or brother! I love you both all the way around the world!

Unfinished Project

Sorry I missed getting a picture of the Modge Poded table, but here's the finished products.

Another one of Rylee's school projects was to decorate a turkey with your family. Well, in our family, it's not fair if one child gets to do an arts and crafts without the other one. So, I duplicated Rylee's project and let Cutter do one as well!

So, without further ado...here are our newest Thanksgiving decorations. I love them, and most of all we had a blast creating them.
I do have to add though, Rylee and I butt heads a lot when it comes to art projects! I have to continue to tell myself that this is HER project, not mine! I had some awesome ideas for the turkeys, but SHE got HER way with HER project. Maybe next time we'll make three, one for each of us! I told Justin about this, and his reply was, "Welcome to dealing with yourself!" Honestly, I don't think I'm THAT hard headed!

McMurry's Homecoming Bonfire

While Justin was here we went to McMurry's Homecoming Bonfire! Here's a few pictures!

Knock Knock...Who's There?

Justin came in for a week visit in October. We decided to keep it a secret until he got here! It was SO worth it too! He came in, and rang the door bell for the kids to answer it. Rylee's expression was irreplaceable!

The new treatment Daddy introduced...

The FOOT treatment!

The week flew by, and I was too busy enjoying my time to take pictures. Sorry!

2009 Purple Armadillos

I was so excited that Rylee decided to play soccer again this year! I love to watch her play, and this year she had SO much fun! There were a lot of girls from her school which probably helped. She did an awesome job on offense and defense, and had a GREAT attitude!

Rylee, I am so proud of you for trying your best every day. I can't remember a single day that you complained about practice or games! You always had a smile on your face, and I love you for that!
